• Low maintenance planting. 
• Replace grassed areas with wildflowers or long grasses.
• Remove lawns and hedges. 
• Use trees and shrubs that only need to be tidied up annually.
• Use of hardscaping materials with high estimated life span (reduces the likelihood of having to repair or replace after a short time frame).
• Hard landscaping that needs occasional attention such as sweeping or cleaning.
• Furniture that doesn’t require painting or treating, only cleaning.
